As anyone who has ever spent a summer evening in the open air knows, mosquitoes are a nuisance. With their whining buzz and relentless search for blood, they can drive even the hardiest outdoor lovers indoors with ease. They can also pose a health risk. We are into mosquito season and the fight to keep them off our property and out of our homes.
There is nothing quite like a summer night in your backyard. Cookouts, s’mores roasting over the fire, children laughing and playing– dreamy! But the mosquitoes. Those dreadful, blood-sucking, pesky bugs. Somehow, they can make the perfect evening unenjoyable. And if you get bit by one, expect to get bit by several.
Be prepared Mosquito season starts slowly in the spring, peaks in the summer, and tapers off into fall. Cooler temperatures, football, get-togethers outside--what’s not to love? Unfortunately, just because it’s fall doesn’t mean we’re safe from mosquitoes--they’ll stick around for a little bit until the temperatures start to cool down drastically.
